191. Does your husband think your business is cute?
If your husband thinks your business is “cute” listen to this 5 minute episode. Sarah had an issue with her husband not believing in her business. He told her not to bother with credit card processing and just work with cash instead. At first, she listened. But here’s what we found: She wasn’t taking her business seriously either. She wasn’t tracking her income. She didn’t know what her assistant was really costing her. She wasn’t even paying herself. And she’s not alone. Are you secretly not taking your business seriously either? Because here’s the thing: Until you believe it’s real, no one else will. We started working together, digging deep. She faced the fears. She ran the numbers. She finally saw the value of what she was building. And when she changed? Everything else did too. Her husband went from dismissive to supportive because the numbers didn’t lie.

Does your husband think your business is cute? And he doesn’t actually treat it like a real business. I had a client like that and it was awful. We’ll call her Sarah, just ’cause I like coming up with names and that one’s a great one. You see this, this is like cash, little bits of cash. That’s what he expected her to deal with.
He said you don’t need a credit card processing software. I don’t want you to be official, just, you know, work with cash. And it was holding her back in such a crazy way because we’re in 2025 people. Why does she have to try to figure out how people can send her money in weird ways if all she needed to do was sign up to a credit card processing you know, program.
Because her husband didn’t think it was necessary. Okay. Now, that was how she came to me from the start, but when we dug deeper, we found that she herself was not taking her business seriously. She wasn’t keeping up with the bookkeeping, the money that was coming in or going out. She was paying an assistant without knowing how much the assistant actually gets paid or paying herself. You know how many people do that in the business world where they’re in business and they’re basically working to pay off the expenses, the tech, their assistant, but they don’t take the time to pay themselves. So they’re breaking even, but sometimes they make money, sometimes they don’t.
And it’s a really, really rocky business experience. So besides getting over the hump of having to get her husband to get on board, we first had to get down to that inner deeper belief in her own self, in her own ability to hold this business. In her ability to look at numbers and her ability to pay herself for the work that she’s doing, just like she pays everyone else.
And with all that came up, a lot of emotions and stories and beliefs that we worked through. We did some guided meditations. We had some sessions where we just got really practical and started looking at numbers. She brought her Excel sheet that she worked through before, and we were able to find where she needs to tweak.
We strategized on what has to happen next in order for her to make more money, to let go of some expenses, to start to really take the business to the next level. And then she felt mature enough and ready to start taking credit card. And when she did, her husband wasn’t actually so against it because she was able to show him the real numbers.
And that was really fun. It was really fun to see how he flipped from being totally against it, and what do you think? And who do you think you are? And this isn’t really real money. And it’s just a little cute thing to like, oh, cool, yeah, I see it now. It makes sense. And that was really cool. That was really cool.
And she told me afterwards that it changed the way that they spoke about the business. It changed the way that they interacted about her and what she’s doing, because he suddenly started to believe the things that she was saying because she started to believe the things that she was saying. You see that. It was really beautiful.
And it’s always like that. There’s always the external superficial issue and the deeper, more rooted issue, and I find that if you’re just trying to fix the superficial, you’re not going to get it to really end completely until you get to the root of the problem. And that’s what I do with my guided meditations.
That’s what I do with the work that I, you know, I’m here to do in the world. We get to the root, we go straight to the part that we can change and that we have control over. And then, as you know, beautifully, everything just sort of starts to fall into place, and that is the way G-d created the world, and I’m so grateful to be a part of that.
So I want to invite you to come and talk to me.
